“An eclectic exhibition from young Scottish artists and designer”

OCTAGON 2012 was back for its second year running, set behind the famous Arthurs Seat in the idyllic village of Duddingston. The exhibition is being held in the historic Thompson Tower and it’s surrounding garden on the edge of Duddingston Loch which showcased fifteen hand picked artists, jewellers, illustrators, textile artists, printmakers.

Innis & Gunn were proud sponsors of Octagon 2012.

From the 31st of January 2012 until the 22nd of February 2012 Iona Brown will be exhibiting at Expo Arte along side award-winning jewellers Merlin Planterose and Filipa Oliveira.

Gallery owner Anne Line Bakkevig, well-known in Norway for curating innovative and trendsetting exhibitions throughout the year in the centre of Oslo. Anne Line is renowned for sourcing some of the best international new talent and is always on the look out for unusual and thought-provoking work by international artists.

Iona Brown is pleased to announce that she has been chosen as one of the  Top Ten Creatives Of The Week [Ceramic, Jewelry, Glass]. The trend website PSFK and ARTS THREAD will promote their weekly list of top 10 designers with a portfolio on ARTS THREAD to over a million readers each month, with a prize for the overall winner being presented at the V&A in March 2012.

Madame Figaro and Carnet de Mode // French fashion magazine competition

Carnet de Mode and Madame Figaro one of the most renown fashion Magazine in France and online platform for new designers. It’s high international visibility thanks to strategic partnerships set up since its creation with fashion magazines and shopping platforms, as well as, organizing fashion events in Paris, catwalks and designer contests.

Carnet de Mode and Madame Figaro have released an international Fashion contest “White Swan” inviting designers to submit ready-to-wear, haute couture or accessory pieces. The top voted pieces will be featured in a fashion show during the prestigious fair Les Coulisses du Mariage.

‘Pinch Of Salt’ as part of SALT // SS 2011 collection has been entered into the competition. Voting is still open, Iona Brown really needs your help to stay in the top 25 votes!

Vanilla Ink

VANILLA INK IS

a brand spanking new online community for new graduates, designers, companies and businesses to share and discuss. Vanilla Ink believes that an online presence is essential, allowing the designer to share their background and showcase what they do. Vanilla Ink uses the term ‘designer’ as apposed to ‘jeweller.’

Pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a jeweller, Vanilla Ink are embracing the ‘new designer.’

Kate Pickering, the founder of Vanilla Ink, encourages viewers to use features such as joining conversations, obtaining all different kinds of knowledge, experience and skills. ‘Shop until you drop’ using the online shop. Blogs featuring a glimpse into the world of a designer, showing thoughts and ideas and to encourage discussions.
